For the Russian team, winning the home freestyle wrestling World Cup is a matter of principle, said the head coach of the team, Dzambolat Tedeev. The team arrived in Yakutsk today, March 14th.
According to Dzambolat Tedeev, the team put on a double squad for the home tournament. This makes it possible to act depending on the situation.
If in some cases you need to strengthen, we will intensify. It all depends on which team we will play with. Where necessary, we set up experienced fighters. On the other hand, we will give a chance to young athletes to fight, show and prove themselves too, he commented.
According to the head coach of the Russian national team, at the home World Cup, they are only counting on victory.
It’s important for us that the World Cup would be won by the Russian team. If earlier in this tournament we gave young people a chance, then today the situation is different, because competitions are held at our home, Tedeev says.
Note that the team arrived in Yakutsk without Abdulrashid Sadulayev, who was supposed to lead the team. The cause was a knee injury, received shortly before departure. On the eve of the World Cup, which will be held very soon, it was decided to give the athlete a rest. Commenting on the chances of the Yakut volunteers Aryan Tyutrin and Viktor Rassadin, Tedeev noted that both wrestlers are in very good athletic form. This proved the final fights, in which the guys showed high results.
The Yakut school is famous all over the world for raising such fighters as Viktor Lebedev, Roman Dmitriev, Pavel Pinigin. Rassadin and Tyutrin were trained in Sochi, well selected control fights. I think that they will also perform in the national team and will delight the Yakut fans with a beautiful fight, Tedeev emphasized.
Recall, the World Cup in freestyle wrestling starts in Yakutsk on March 16. The tournament will feature eight of the strongest teams in the world: Russia, Iran, USA, Georgia, Japan, Mongolia, Cuba and Turkey.
